Getting Legal Help

Monday, May 19th, 2008

My wife Anne sat me across from this medical malpractice lawyer in Chicago who says he can get me 7 figures for my car accident! I nearly choked on my coq au vin. He said that because the car insurance company overlooked the mistakes of my doctor, and since they cover his malpractice liability, that they had a serious conflict of interest in my case and therefore were deceptive in their investigation of his wrong doing. I am very glad to have met this intelligent and persuasive lawyer and will let you all know how it goes.

One Slip is All it Takes

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I didn’t go to law school expecting to become a personal injury lawyer. Chicago was, after all, where you went to become a supreme court justice, or maybe a class action litigator taking on populist causes and reaping unfathomable awards from them. But it just so happened that fate, in the form of a slippery floor at O’hare airport, led me to take personal injury and the complaints of those injured by negligence a lot more seriously. I suppose that sometimes it just takes a good knock in the head!

Martial Arts for Kids is Great Discipline

Monday, May 19th, 2008

I’ve been doing karate and MMA at the best karate school in Miami for many years. I have an 8-year-old son who has watched me practice all my life, with awe, who I think would enjoy participating. That’s why I’m looking for a place that offers specially-tailored childrens karate in Miami. An all-kids class would probably be a better learning environment for him, not to mention a safer one, given that sparring is part of practicing the sport. If anyone has a suggestion (I’ve heard AKI is good) please feel free to share.

When Self Defense Pays Off

Monday, May 19th, 2008

There is for most of the year, it’s simply too hot to get regular exercise outdoors in Miami unless you serve. So what’s a gal to do to stay in shape in the sauna that is Miami? Martial arts training are one of the best options I can think of. A constant schedule of classes makes it convenient. MMA and karate schools are air conditioned. The skills taught make me confident as a single woman that I could protect myself if I needed to. And the regular activity keeps me in shape, gives me a outlet to release stress from work, and is a disciplinary practice that makes it easier for me to make myself do all the things I need to do each and every day.

All Products Start as Great Ideas

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Have an idea for a product? Think you can get rich quicker than the other bozos you see pushing junk on TV? Get a patent, start producing, and get an infomercial! There really is no better way to get rich quick. The first step atfer the prototyping stage is to assess production costs and hire an  infomercial production company to make you a professional video advertising the benefits of your widget. A good company will make the pig impossible to see under all the lipstick they apply in the form of good video taping techniques, sound mixing, video editing, and more. Good luck!

Who Wants to Be on TV?

Monday, May 19th, 2008

When we think of TV, we most often think of the shows and movies we watch. And when we think about TV Channels, we generally consider them to be the biggest spenders on TV production – after all, they have to pay for television shows to get produced or else produce TV shows themselves. But it’s actually advertisers that spend the most on production – not TV channels. That’s why television commercial production is the largest employer of television producers. Not only do ads outnumber TV shows and take about 10 times longer to make on a production time to screen time basis, but consider that for every ad on TV about 2 more have been made but not used by the advertising company. This means that corporate ad production for television is incredibly competitive and that it makes sense to get only the best name in production to make your company’s ad.
